Git / Mercurial Workshop

Special joint meeting with Pyowa, the Iowa Python Users Group.

We are conducting a fun and informal workshop to discuss and play with the newest and best version control systems out there, Git and Mercurial. If you are a Git user, but interested in Mercurial, or vice versa, or if you are using CVS or Subversion and are wondering what all the hype is about, please join us.

Bring your laptop if you want to participate hands on. We will have a sandbox set up in which we can all play. We will be presenting a list of tasks or scenarios and running through how to solve each with Git and Mercurial. We will not have a formal speaker or expert. Rather, we will use the power of the collective (and when necessary, Google) to bring forth ideas and solve problems. It should be very collaborative, informative, and fun!

Dinner at the Meeting

Pizza and pop will be provided by IMT. If you’re thinking about joining us, please send a heads up to wes.stclair@gmail.com so we can have a rough idea on how much food to have on hand.
