Vonchurch / Silicon Valley, CA

I have 2 opportunities available, both very different in terms of atmosphere, environment, and duties. The first company is more of a junior/mid level guys looking to push their abilities and grow with the company. It is a true startup environment with flat titles and a very young atmosphere (they have a mini arcade/game room in the middle of their office). The second position is for a senior level web dev with strong RoR abilities. The company and culture is still somewhat startup-ish, though it is definitely a mid-sized company with roughly 25 or so employees. The working environment is still young, though not as young as the previously mentioned company.

Both companies are for onsite opportunities. They will assist in relocation. Both will take H-1B transfers as well as TN visas. No H-1B sponsorship or remote, unfortunately.

Please contact Eric, ejoe@vonchurch.com, if interested in the opportunities.

Junior/Mid Level RoR Developer

I’m looking for a junior Ruby on Rails developer to work for a classic Silicon Valley Startup in Mountain View (founders are recent grads from Stanford University). The company is in stealth mode, and as such, there is very little information regarding the actual company and the job specs that I can reveal. Nonetheless, They are, however, already profitable and are lining up some of the biggest names in the games industry on their client list. The project is a cloud-based game server that allows for continuous play across multiple platforms (web, iPhone, Facebook). The company, while less than a year old, is profitable and will probably be purchased within the next 2 years. They are 8 people strong, and as such, are offering 1-2% equity on top of a competitive base. This is the ideal opportunity for entrepreneurial-minded developers who want to be a part of the Silicon Valley start-up craze.

What I need-

  • 1.5+ year of RoR experience (professional, internships, or course studies), preferably back end biased
  • CS degree
  • Entrepreneurial minded

Preferable-

  • Recent college grad
  • Desire to use agile/esoteric rather than “enterprisey” languages (i.e. Ruby/Python/Erlang/etc. vs. Java)
  • Top University
